Does having spare parts in stock really matter?

Does having spare parts in stock really matter?

We often get asked if it truly pays off to manufacture everything here in Norway. Listen to what our Sales Manager, Jostein, has to say:

"From a purely financial standpoint, there are certainly cheaper places to produce. However, for me, it’s all about the conversation I can have with the customer when they are in a bind."

It is an incredibly good feeling to be able to say: 'Don't worry, we have the part in stock right here, and we’ll have it fixed today.'

I notice that our customers value proximity more and more. Knowing that we are physically present with our own team and a large inventory of spare parts provides a sense of security you simply cannot put a price tag on.

It might be old-fashioned, but I believe a local presence is the best insurance against downtime.

What do you think – does the face behind the product still matter in 2026?
